Conventionally-grown peaches topped the Environmental Working Group's updated Shopper's Guide to Pesticides, an annual list of the "most contaminated" fruits and vegetables.
Here's what the advocacy group found:

*

Peaches had the highest likelihood of multiple pesticides on a single sample-- 87.0 percent had two or more pesticide residues, followed by nectarines (85.3 percent) and apples (82.3 percent).
*

Peaches and apples had the most pesticides detected on a single sample (9), followed by strawberries and imported grapes (8).
* Peaches had the most pesticides overall, with some combination of up to 53 pesticides found on the samples tested, followed by apples (50) and strawberries (38.)

Seven of the 12 food with the highest pesticide load were fruits. In addition to peaches, apples, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, imported grapes and pears made the list.

Other highlights from the analysis:

Fruits with the lowest pesticide residue: Avocados, pineapples, mangoes, kiwi, papayas, watermelon and grapefruit.

Vegetables with the highest pesticide residue: Sweet bell peppers, celery, kale, lettuce, and carrots. The testers found 64 pesticides on sweet bell peppers.

Vegetables with the lowest pesticide residue: Onions, sweet corn, asparagus, sweet peas, cabbage, eggplant, broccoli, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes.

Here's the full list.
Buying organic is also about supporting a system of sustainable agricultural management that promotes soil health and fertility through the use of such methods as crop rotation and cover cropping, which nourish plants, foster species diversity, help combat climate change, prevent damage to valuable water resources, and protect farmers and farmers’ families from exposure to harmful chemicals.
So without further ado, the toxic produce to make you say, “ewww”:

I don't even think I can buy organic in my area. Sucks. I wouldn't mind learning how to grow my own- we actually had several community gardens before the city destroyed them- but for now I'd need a short term solution because I make smoothies almost every day.

I guess eating the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables will expose a person to nearly 20 pesticides per day on average. Eating the 12 least contaminated will expose a person to a fraction over 2 pesticides per day. And all showing some combination of 64 different chemicals, followed by lettuce with 57, and carrots with 40.
The worst part is that some of the chemicals used in the pesticides and insecticides often have radioactive chemicals ( even though they maybe in very small quantities , imagine the long term health hazard when you eat contaminated vegetables and fruits everyday ) and even more shocking is the fact that the government gives subsidies to these pesticides manufacturer's , so that it becomes more affordable for the farmer's to buy and use it extensively ! I switched to organic a long time back .
Regular intake of fruits and green vegetables is very essential such as apples, spinach, cabbage, grapes, potatoes etc.
